Chelsea are close to signing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy. Sancho has already agreed to personal terms, and the deal is expected to be completed before the transfer window closes. 

He will be Chelsea's 13th signing of the summer transfer window. Sancho is expected to play on the left side, competing with players like Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk for a starting position. The England international very publicly fell out with United boss Erik ten Hag last season and ended up being loaned to Borussia Dortmund. 

Chelsea are long-term admirers of Sancho, with Joe Shields, the club's co-director of recruitment and talent, helping bring the winger to Manchester City in 2015. Sancho's move to Chelsea will provide a fresh start for the talented winger, who has struggled to find consistency in his career since leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
