Breaking News: Riccardo Calafiori Deal Done to Chelsea

Chelsea FC has made a significant move to strengthen their defense by launching a bid for Bologna's highly-rated defender, Riccardo Calafiori. The Blues are willing to offer a player-plus-cash deal to persuade Bologna to sell the 22-year-old Italian center-back.

Calafiori has impressed in Serie A, attracting attention from top European clubs, including Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Liverpool. Bologna values him at €50m (£42.3m), and Chelsea is negotiating to meet the asking price. Interestingly, Basel, Calafiori's former club, is entitled to 40% of any future sale above €6m (£5.1m).

Arsenal has also presented a long-term proposal to Calafiori, who is open to joining the Gunners due to their established relationship with Bologna. However, Chelsea's offer may trump Arsenal's, as the Blues are eager to bolster their defense under new manager Enzo Maresca. This transfer saga is heating up, with several top clubs vying for Calafiori's signature.
